Little Trouble Girl

I think Mark Romanek's alien girl in the Sonic Youth video was in the back of my mind painting this - here's a more maligned demon girl. It's not her fault.

Owl Matryoshkas and The Wacom Tablet

Ok, I don't know if I've mentioned it but I am not a digital artist.

I have a Wacom tablet, an old christmas gift from the Mr. in hopes of getting me on board with digital media. Today I decided to wrangle it again.

My one complaint so far is that drawing with tablet and mouse makes me a bit sick to my stomach - the feeling of car sick that I get reading in a car! How weird.

The result -

I'm sure I could do more with this were I a more skilled user of p-shop/GIMP.

Two Drifters Print

I was designing some little buttons and magnets, or so I thought, and things got more involved than I intended. This happens to me a lot.

More Scratch Art

Sort of a Girl-Fox-Doorstop kind of animal. Also started out on my long-ass Amtrak ride, whew.

So Long St. George

So I had this horrible uptight overpainting everything art day.

And then I got out the cheap canvas panel, because I wanted to make an 8x10 image and I was out of panels that size. And I got this.

Back From Renegade Handmade

Wow, that was a blast. A Hard working insane blast.

I was very into scratchboard for a while, and picked up a few on my train layover in Chicago. To kill a couple of hours, I went into Utrecht and bought a few moleskines and some scratchboards. On the way down I sketched to my MP3 player. On the way back, I started using my sketches.

Shockingly obvious to those of you with good artmaking practises you've been on top of for years. For me, not so much.

It's funny, scratch art seems so elementray school, but I've always loved the results.

I was a Big Ol Bear Once

The pace is picking up, in getting ready for Renegade Brooklyn, so I haven't been painting as much as I'd like. This was a nice way to pass some time in the middle of the night while stressing over how much inventory I have.

Dining Out For Life

This my one of my favorite acts of enlightened self interest - tonight we're going to the 128 in Linden Hills.

Dining out for Life pairs restaurants and charitable HIV-AIDS related giving - up to 35% of your tab tonight will go to the charities.

That's 35%. No BS Starbucks Ethos water 5% crappy crap exploitation, real $.

See if there's a restaurant near you participating and consider going out tonight.
